our hearts are the ante – pt 1

There are consequences to every game. This journey began with intentions of maintaining righteousness and purity; no hearts were meant to break. That was the last thing either of us wanted. So, the turmoil I am experiencing resonates somewhere between where my heart should have remained; guarded, and where it ended up; broken and left behind, unwanted at the end of the game.
